Admission requirements.
Undergraduate admission requirements.
To enter an undergraduate program, you must have a high school diploma or
equivalent and be employed. If you are not
employed, you must have access to an organizational environment
that allows you to apply the concepts you learn in our courses.
As part of your admission, your prior coursework, elective
classes, major studies, and credits awarded through the Assessment of Prior
Learning or the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) will be considered for
academic credit. You may also be able to convert previous experience into
academic credits.
Undergraduate students can choose to enroll directly into an
undergraduate program, following a curriculum that depends on the number of
previously earned credits being transferred. Another option is to finish the
Associate of Arts program and gain the benefits of that diploma while
continuing to study toward the Bachelor’s degree.
Graduate admission requirements.
To be considered for a graduate program, you must be employed or have access
to an organizational environment that allows you to apply the concepts you learn
in our courses. In addition, you will need an undergraduate degree from a regionally
accredited college or university, or one that is a candidate for accreditation. A
comparable degree from a recognized institution outside of the United States is
also acceptable. University of Phoenix requires you to have a minimum cumulative
grade point average of 2.5 and at least three years of significant work experience.
Non-Native Speakers of English / TOEFL
Students must be proficient in English in order to participate in classroom
discussions and complete the required assignments. An applicant whose native
language is not English will not be eligible to attend classes under Registered
status. Official documentation of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
must be submitted with the admission file before the applicant may begin the
program.
Evaluating foreign transcripts.
All academic records from international colleges and countries other than
the United States must be evaluated by the evaluation service approved by the
University of Phoenix Online. The evaluation services follow standards approved
by the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Credentials.
Applicants with non-U.S. education from other institutions or international
colleges should contact us for the
appropriate application. If the academic records are in another language, a
certified English translation is required. The University will accept translations
from the issuing international colleges or an official translation service.
Please contact us as we are continually working to make this an easier process
for our international students.
Your advisor will guide your application.
Since every student is unique and has different needs, University of Phoenix Online
