Noel Chicuecue, an educator by profession who has worked on both a managerial and director level -- provincially and nationally-- in his native Mozambique, came to University of Phoenix Online looking to systemize his practical experience as a manager.
What attracted you to University of Phoenix Online?
I was attracted to the possibility of studying without leaving my job and the flexibility of learning with respect to time and place. I can link from anywhere around the world and there are no restrictions to movement, except some places where there is no internet connection. The possibility to be in a virtual class, yet experience it as if it was a real class is great. The fact that there is the possibility of learning from class discussions, team work, and that it is recognized.
How would you describe the University of Phoenix Online learning experience?
This was a fantastic experience. I learned through a variety of methods including simulations, discussions and brainstorming, learning team work, lectures paper writing and individual assignment. The faculty was drawn from people with hands on job experience. The link between theory and practice enriched my learning experience.
What would you tell fellow country men or women considering University of Phoenix Online today?
It is very dynamic and interactive. It comes into your home and you go at your own pace and can learn with others. The structure is logical and comprehensive. It requires critical thinking and develops more of your critical thinking skills.
How has the experience and, of course, the degree impacted your professional and personal life?
The degree impacted my life and my work, by raising my self-esteem due to increased appreciation for solving real problems at the workplace. I now enjoy my work and look forward to a prosperous career within my organization.
